Our Mission

At The Oxbridge Group, our mission is to transform the world of admissions tutoring. We envision a marketplace where tutors are appropriately rewarded for their expertise and commitment, and where parents and students pay fair prices. We recognize the current opacity of the admissions tutoring sector, where high-pressure sales and scare tactics often overshadow the genuine needs of students. We aim to establish transparency and authenticity in our approach, ensuring that parents and students are well-informed and supported throughout their journey.

December 2019

Embarked on enriching extracurricular activities like essay competitions, courses, and extensive reading, albeit in an unstructured manner. This initial struggle highlights the importance of the guidance our tutors provide today.

I started A-Levels.  Entering sixth form, I was resolute in my aspiration to study Economics at Cambridge.

March 2020

The onset of global lockdowns. Determined to make the most of it, I deep-dived into preparation, even organising my goals with a Gantt chart!

July 2020

Initiated weekly Zoom sessions with a friend applying to Cambridge for Economics. These meetings, focused on mock interviews and discussions, are the precursor to the structured tutorials The Oxbridge Group now offers.

November 2020
October 2020

Intensified my preparation for the ECAA. Despite limited resources, I curated a comprehensive plan and strategy, elements of which our tutors now share with students.

Post the ECAA, I searched for Oxbridge alumni who could provide mock interviews with little success.  If only I’d have found The Oxbridge Group!

January 2021

I receive my offer! An incredible day, although we'd just gone into lockdown.

October 2021

Started my journey at Cambridge.

December 2021
March 2022

My student loan runs out (oops) – a friend suggests that I run mock interviews for an admissions company.

Worked closely with multiple students, receiving glowing feedback.

July 2022
July 2023

Fed up with receiving about 15% of the tutoring fee, I launched "Oxbridge Economics" for freelance tutoring.

After being repeatedly approached by friends from a variety of subjects asking if they could work for me I decided to broaden my appeal, expanding 'Oxbridge Economics' to its current form 'The Oxbridge Group'.

September 2023

Keen to take on more tutors, I post on the Cambridge Facebook group, asking for other tutors who feel the same about companies currently not providing a good deal for tutors or clients. I get over 150 replies!  I’m currently assessing each of these, to take on the best tutors possible.
